Our journey (so far)

After 5 years of infertility, we finally got a BFP via IUI with donor sperm. Pregnant with healthy identical twin girls, my husband and I thought our dreams had finally come true!
On June 12th, 2008 our world collapsed. Our little girls hearts had stopped beating at 19 weeks, due to Twin-to-Twin Tranfusion Syndrome. Berber and Gerber were our perfect little angels, and we miss them dearly each and every day.

Seven months after losing the girls, we were fortunate enough to conceive again using the same donor. On September 15th, 2009, we welcomed our son, Sherbert, into the world. This is our journey.

Blake wants you to know...

...that is really fun to puke, pee, and poop on mom. During a single diaper change.

Just for shits and giggles. And because he can.

Hello,

I stumbled across your blog while hitting that 'Next Blog' button at the top of my screen. I felt compelled to leave you a comment letting you know that i just stayed up ALL night reading your blog. Read the whole thing...no joke. I LOVE your sense of humor, and brutal honesty sparing no detail. i loved everything from the talk of peeing on sticks to the oh so wonderful 'lady issues' that we go through.

I have a close friend who lost her son Gavin at 39 weeks 3 days, just 4 days away from his due date (no reason for his death was ever discovered). i was with her in the hospital and for several months following his death and have witnessed first hand the pain and anguish that losing a child has on a mother, and how difficult it is when friends and family don't understand that just because a child does not take a breath in this world, it does NOT mean that they were not real or did not exist. She had Gavin's footprint tattooed on her ankle so that she could keep him with her always, and i love your idea of the ring, absolutely brilliant (and beautiful i might ad!) I admire the strength you displayed and your diligence with keeping up with your blog! (i myself am a self admitted horrible blogger and admire anyone who can keep up with one regularly especially during difficult times).

I do not struggle with infertility but i am 13 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I have been having trouble getting excited and getting used to the idea of becoming a mom. Reading your journal has made me realize that there are so many woman out there that would give an arm, leg and just about anything to be in my position and i am suddenly grateful for my little jellybean and looking forward to the future.

Congratulations on the safe and healthy arrival of baby Blake! he is absolutely beautiful! Your birth story had me laughing, and almost looking forward to my turn, although i will admit the fear of the unknown still hangs over me, lol.

Thank you so much for sharing all the ups and downs in your blog and providing my pregnancy insomnia with something to do other than watch youtube all night :D it is very early in the AM now, so i must be off!

Looking forward to following your blog from now on!

Then there was the time Alexa shat (yes it's a word) all over Gabe's hand and arm. Projectile shit. I laughed my face off. He panicked... it was hillarious!
