I need help...and y'all are the smartest ladies I know!
How can I incorporate Kar.is and Ad.dison into Blake's birth announcement? I can't find wording anywhere, and I'm just not creative (nor do I have the tact) to write it myself.
Any suggestions?
Usually the announcement would say something like: "Blake joins sisters Ka.ris and Ad.dison." Obviously this wording doesn't work for us.
Or should this just be about Blake?
"What the heck is this thing??"

That is a great idea! How exactly to do it- I am not good at stuff like that either. Maybe something like the girls are dancing in heaven over the birth of Blake, or they are watching over blake. I think this is wonderful!
Hmm, yeah I think you can work them in there perfectly. Let's see, I do like the "Older twin sisters Ka.ris and Ad.dison watch over Blake from heaven."
My suggestion was very similar Jen's (above). I think you should definitely include them in the announcement if you want to.
I agree with Jen.
I think they definitely should be included! I would say something about them watching over him from Heaven or "Blake also has 2 angel sisters, A and K, who are watching over him."
I am thinking the same way as Lorza and Jen - Big Sisters Ka,ris and Ad.dison are watching over Blake from Heaven or something like that.
maybe something about how he was "sent to us by his sisters in heaven above, now watched over by Ka.ris and Ad.dison with love"? Kinda hokey presentation with the rhyme, maybe, but the sentiment's right.
Our lives are complete now
that Karis and Addison have blessed us from above
With the sweetest baby boy
to snuggle and love
Introducing....BLAKE
I like "Dre's" that's beautiful

I like Jen's. And I agree, you should def include them if you want to...I think it'll be special for Blake when he gets older.
You can always take a cue from the obits ....and say "He is preceeded in birth by older sisters Karis and Addison, gone home to Heaven."
these are beautiful suggestions. I intend to include my third baby in the acknowledgments to my dissertation, but in that context, I was planning to list him by name with RIP after. I study latin and I love the phrase requiescat in pace. For a newspaper announcement, I love the suggestions here.
What about saying something about he left his sisters to come be with us but they still watch over him from above. I think it is great to include them. I am so happy for you and the joy you have found after so much hard.
I love this idea, and thinks it's a great way to honor your daughters. "Baby brother to Kar.is and Ad.dison." and maybe something like "In an instant, they touched our hearts forever."
hi there. i am a lurker but wanted to add a comment. i would leave blake's birth announcement for him only. i would put in a little index sized insert, adding something about his sisters. i think it is wonderful to invoke their memory-perhaps a small tagline at the bottom in smaller print even-older twin sisters k and a watch over blake from heaven" but i wouldn't sign the birth announcments from you, hubby, and the girls. just better IMHO! to honor them where they are, which is watching this joy from above.
I'm not good at this stuff either, but I love the idea. Maybe so that Blake stays the focus you could do something like Anastasia or Jess suggested, "Loved by parents x and y, preceded in death by sisters K and A." I def. like the idea of somehow acknowledging that he has big sisters though :)
I saw a baby announcement recently from a mom whose first son was stillborn. The wording of the announcement didn't mention the first son, but it was signed with the mom's name, the dad's name, and 'our angel xxx'. I think something like that is fitting without making the announcement too much about the sibling in heaven.
I don't have any better suggestions than what some of us have given here, but just wanted to state that IMO to not include them just seems wrong. You cannot change the facts, and from my own experience with our son who would have had a twin had I not miscarried, has only been a positive. (His middle name is Thomas which means twin.) We did include that information on the birth announcement, and it would have been painful to us not to have included it. I don't think this takes away from Blake's birth, it only adds to the miracle of it. Enjoy him!
I completely support you listing the girls as his big sisters, and like the others' suggestions of watching him from Heaven, or something like that.
If anyone is on the other end of the life stage (an older realtive who has passed away but they want to mention), I once gave my aunt the suggestion of mentioning that Uncle Bob had "been promoted to Heaven," which she loved. [but obviously that's not approriate for babies]
we always put "With Vivian and Annemarie close in our hearts" on our letters, cards, etc...like last year's Christmas card said that after our names. Just an idea.
how cool you're doing a newspaper announcement!
Some lovely ideas have been shared, and I really appreciated reading the responses. I like to think about our trio watching over this baby as he grows, so I love the idea of something along the lines of "Blake enters this world under the loving watch of Karis and Addison, his twin sisters who are in Heaven above." Whatever you decide, it's so sweet that Karis and Addison will be included and that Blake has such a special family to surround him with so much love.
I don't have anything useful to add, there have been some great suggestions. I do think they should be included and these are some great ways.
I'm not very good at this..
but..
Sent from our 2 little angels above
Kar.is and Ad.dison would like too introduce our new little love
Blake **** ****
Born on *** *** **
I'm not good at this wording thing either...now that I think of it I didn't mention the triplet in the girl's birth announcement, but I wish I had (I think I've been in denial, but that a whole other issue).
ANYHOW, I like what the others have said about them either sending him (my first choice) or them watching him from above.
I do think you should include them, if you're so inclined. He DOES have two older sisters and if you want to honor them too, then I think that's what you should do. =)
On Toodle's birth announcement, we signed it "The Busted Family" with my and DH's names, and then in parentheses (watched over by Noah and Talia)...in retrospect I should have said watched over by siblings Noah and Talia, but whatever.
"Introducing Blake, baby brother to angel sisters Karis and Addison, who went to heaven on June 12, 2008."
They ARE his sisters after all--I think they should totally be mentioned. You'd mention them if they were here, so it shouldn't be any different.
Pretty much what I was thinking..everyone has said one way or the other.
BTW..he is adorable!
Heya long time lurker here. But I have to say that if you want to add them, then you SO should!!! I really like all the suggestions.
I was thinking something like "from Ka.ris and Ad.dison's arms in Heaven to our arms here on Earth ... we welcome Blake!"
Question ... I guess I don't get why Ka.ris and Ad.dison have dots in their names? Call me slow ... lol
Lots of great suggestions here. Just wanted to say I think it's wonderful to include the girls, & I have seen such announcements in the papers here -- it IS done!
I like Samantha's suggestion. Catchy and happy.
What a cutie!!
As for the announcement. I say definately include the girls. What about... Blake is the third child born to the "no swimmers" family. Twin sisters Kar.is and Add.ison watch over him from heaven.
All of the suggestions are great. I hope you find something that works for you.
i LOVE the idea of including the girls also. and it seems like you have plenty of suggestions on how to word it. no matter what you choose- they will be honored and will be smiling down on you all from above!
I would make the newspaper announcement only about Blake. It would be fine to mention the girls in the printed announcements that you send to family and friends; they are the people who know you and who share your mixed feelings of joy at your son's birth and sorrow that his big sisters won't be there to hug him.
I think you should include the twins, too. But I have no idea how! Good luck! He is a sweetie!
I love Dre's suggestion
"sent to us by his sisters in heaven above, now watched over by Ka.ris and Ad.dison with love"
I echo everyone. You should include them, perhaps: Baby sisters Ka.ris and Ad.dison are welcoming him from above.
xoxo
I would include K and A in some form... it's been covered already with some really good wording by others.
I just have to add that I would go one step further and take his announcement picture with him wearing a baby brother shirt or onesie just so that the wording "sent from angels from above" or "watched over by k and a" (whichever you use)was completely obvious to the reader that they are his sisters and what better way than a baby brother shirt?
Just my 2 cents...
Baby Blake is so so cute.....he looks a lill like baby Dan or do all babies look alike? lol
