Our journey (so far)

After 5 years of infertility, we finally got a BFP via IUI with donor sperm. Pregnant with healthy identical twin girls, my husband and I thought our dreams had finally come true!
On June 12th, 2008 our world collapsed. Our little girls hearts had stopped beating at 19 weeks, due to Twin-to-Twin Tranfusion Syndrome. Berber and Gerber were our perfect little angels, and we miss them dearly each and every day.

Seven months after losing the girls, we were fortunate enough to conceive again using the same donor. On September 15th, 2009, we welcomed our son, Sherbert, into the world. This is our journey.

Would you like to play a game, kids??

Oooh...want to play a game? It's a fun game, I promise! There will even be a prize for the winner. And this ain't no tootsie roll, kids. I'm going to pay for a RESOLVE membership for the winner--a $55 value. Woohooo! (Side note: I'm also going to invite family and friends to play. If one of them ends up winning I will go down the list until I find the first non family member/friend. They don't need/want a RESOLVE membership)

All you have to do is be the closest guess in the Sherbie Baby Pool!

Just click on this handy-dandy banner:

Game on, bitches!!

In the meantime, I thought you might like some pics of Sherbie's nursery. We went with the Ken.neth Br.own "Handsome Puppy" theme, which now appears to be discontinued. :p

Mabel just had to be in a pic.

We've had this blue painted window frame for about 5 years...we bought it for the "baby's room". Never would have imagined it would take so long to get here!

As you can see I've sucked it up and have actually packed a few things for the hospital (yikes!). Mabel likes to chill on the bed and Tungsten likes to imitate the hippo reading chair. (Seriously, they really look alike...kinda creepy.)

U likey the beagle watercolor? The smaller picture in the middle is one of K.aris and Ad.dison's rainbow, the night we found out they had passed away. I like to think they'll be watching over their little brother.

Closet full of baby stuff. It's been so weird to pull it all out of totes, remembering each item I've bought/been given over the past 7 years.

This is Sherbie's pile. He'll be coming home with the blankie Sheri made.

I may be drunk (no, not really), but I'm actually going to post a full-on belly shot. I reserve the right to delete it at any time for any reason.

B thought it would be fun to lay on the ground and take a pic looking up. It's sorta how my toes feel, I guess...
Then I took a pic of B on the floor. He's very afraid of being crushed. (Note: he's not always a slobby disgusting sweaty mess, he just got done doing yardwork. The only other thing that would cause him to sweat like this is just not happening...).

If you haven't already done so, go make your guesses on Sherbie's arrival!!

Everything is looking great! I love your nursery.
My first son was due September 28th 2005 so I guessed his time and date of birth for you, couldn't think of any better way of guessing!

Your DH looks great! Okay, a little shellshocked--this is going to be happening very soon. :)

Love the puppy-themed nursery--it's adorable! The rainbow pic is so sweet. I think you're right--you're going to have two beautiful guardian angels for your new son.

I second the envy at your "no stretch marks" belly--*sigh*--so jealous.

Good luck with the last few weeks, you look wonderful!

That Hippo is sooo cute!!! I mean the stuffed one lol

I am WAY jealous of your bump. NOT ONE STRETCH MARK!!! Ugh. I hate people like you! LOL! My 10.3lb firstborn ripped me to shreds and so did my twins! Tummy tuck anyone? :D

I am constantly thinking of you (ok, not 24/7 cause that would just be TOTALLY weird) but you get the idea. I can't wait to see pics of mr Sherbie!! :D

God bless fellow mama! :)

LOL. I love how you described B as a "slobby disgusting sweaty mess" - that's so something I would say about my DH. I actually regularly refer to him (with love) as "fat sweatables". Haha.

Love the belly shots! I think you should have a contest on whether your belly button is going to pop out like a Butterball turkey!

I love the nursery. The colors are perfect! Too bad it's discontinued though :-(

You look adorable. I did one of the pics from "mommy's view" and still enjoy that pic. It's nice when you can easily see your toes again.

Your belly looks SO cute! You're so lucky (mine looks like a war zone, no joke). And I love, love, LOVE the nursery! Very cute.

PS My girls have the same fluffy duck stuffed animal that you have in the closet. Evy loves to squel and jump on it. =)

Nursery looks fab! I knew you'd get around to gettin' it done ;o)

Love the Daddy shots, too :o)

Okay, I clearly do not need the RESOL.VE membership ... so, uh, how bout a case of D.iet Cok.e for me, to be consumed sometime after St. Patrick's Day?

Great pictures. I love the handsome puppy. It makes me want another baby boy but he would be 14 years younger than my youngest so I guess it's no go.
Your dogs are going to be so surprised when the baby comes. I'm sure they'll behave. I worked at a newspaper when I was pregnant with my oldest and it seemed like I was always reading stories about babies who go eaten/bitten by the family pets. The weirdest one involved a pet rabbit that ate a newborn's little finger. I guess it thought it was a carrot.

I love the nursery. Handsome Puppy is one of the sets we were thinking of. Not sure if he's here yet or not, but I hope everything did/does go well!
